Waiohonu

Lush, tropical foliage and spacious grounds surround this delightful, beachfront home. It exemplifies the tranquility for which Kauai's North Shore has long been valued. Vaulted ceilings add a spacious feel to the large living area which offers fabulous ocean views. Amid gentle breezes, the lanai is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature's impressive panorama and spectacular sunsets.

Just steps from your door, the beautiful, white-sand beach invites leisure activities. Have a picnic, build a sand castle, stroll along the extensive coastline, watch for playful dolphins offshore or simply bask in the sun's warmth and experience total relaxation. Dine in the privacy of your vacation hideaway or take a scenic drive to neighboring Hanalei about ten minutes away.

There is a nice variety of restaurants and cafes here as well as small shops which welcome browsing. A five-minute drive beyond Hanalei brings you to Princeville for additional shops and eateries as well as two challenging golf courses ranked among the nation's very best.

Activities nearby include seasonal swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, hiking, sightseeing, flightseeing, shopping, tennis and golf.

Note: For larger groups or family reunions, it can be rented along with Haena Hale for the ultimate beachfront retreat.

"Joyce, As you know this is our second trip to Waiohonu - which we love. Our trip was great!! We mostly hung out around the house and relaxed on the beach. I did a lot of snorkeling. We did visit many beaches that we did not go to last time. We spent our whole last day driving from Princeville to the airport trying every road going toward the ocean to experience a new beach. We even got to visit a beach that was behind some private homes, that when the owners saw my mom let us trek through their backyard down to the ocean. We did not quite make it to Queen Emma's Bath. It rained a lot this trip and was a little to slippery for an 83 year old. We managed to get down to the last drop off so we could see the pool and it was beautiful. The waterfall about 1/2 way down was really coming down and was spectacular. We were not planning on going to a Luau this time but the Hanalei Canoe club was having a fund raiser for their young people so they could travel to a competition on the Big Island so we went and had a great time! If Mom's health stays good we probably will be going again next year about the same time. I will let you know asap. I will have to take out travel insurance this time. Thank you again for the Orchid plant and the care you have taken to insure a great trip. Dave and BJ " - Dve Bauer, Colorado, 2007-04-09
