"Joyce, Omigod! What an incredibly beautiful part of the world! I cried when we landed, looking over at Moorea's majestic, craggy peaks. Going to Bora Bora first was a good plan. I had been regretting not taking off a day early because we got caught up in the Spring Break traffic in LA and LAX - but it was a great day to arrive, since the Lagoon Resort does their Buffet/Dance show on Saturday. We were immersed in the culture right away. We did the awesome snorkel with Chez Nono right by Matira Pt. They were wonderful hosts and probably provided the best meal we had on our whole trip. It could've been the atmosphere, though. Shark Boy was with the cruise ships the whole time... Then on to Moorea: Even though we only had one full day there, we did another snorkel boat and were thrilled by the trip - similar to Bora Bora but different enough to really enjoy it. At Rangiroa, the resort was incredibly beautiful. Less people understood or spoke English, and there was more of a feeling of cultural authenticity not present in Bora Bora or Moorea. You were right to suggest the meal plan there, as there was not much choice. You can take taxi boats to places around the atoll. The hotel wants you to do everything through them but we kind of went around them and called the boatman ourselves and his brother ended up taking us snorkeling on our last day. The last night in Tahiti at the Intercontinental was fabulous as well. We had thought the trip was over and flew over to Tahiti and was so surprised at that beautiful setting. The show that night was spectacular, enhanced by the lightning show over Moorea that lasted the length of the night. What a trip! You've done it again. I've referred you to a lot of friends and will continue to do so. Thanks so much for the goody bag! Love that lotion! Until next trip, Yours, Eileen " - Eileen Van Koppen, Summerland, California, 2007-04-03
