Ask Endora

Endora,

My family and I are now considering staying in a privately owned vacation home. I have never done this before and want to understand how to insure this type of trip in case we have to cancel.

Elizabeth – Maine

Dear Elizabeth,

In today’s day and age you can insure just about anything, for a price. I highly recommend Travel Guard Insurance as well as CSA Insurance to clients that want to insure their private home vacation rental, cruise, adventure travel vacation, etc. These companies are very reputable and will be able to give you guidance on the right insurance for your needs. We actually have a link for CSA on our website. Hopefully you will feel secure after speaking with these fine folks at either establishment.

Dear Endora,

When is value season for Tahiti?

Craig -- California

Dear Craig,

Tahiti is in the southern hemisphere so the seasons there are opposite ours in North America. The best pricing will always be dependent on the property you want to stay at. We have specials now for January through March that include free meal plans (breakfast and dinner) for stays of five nights or longer (this can add up quickly and your savings for a five night stay will be about $1000!).

We also have specials (again depending on the property) from January through May which include free nights. Some properties offer stay 3/pay 2 rates, an excellent offer especially when you are going to visit a couple of islands.

The cruise lines also offer savings January through May and, based on our Tiare specialists analysis, we have seen lots of specials during the months of October, November, and December (excluding holidays).

Tahiti is a vacation choice that most of us imagine visiting once in a lifetime; it makes sense to take advantage of these specials because you can save $1000's if you stay at the right properties. Contact one of our Tahiti specialists for recommendations and price quotes -- you might be surprised at how affordable this dreamy paradise can be.

Dear Endora,

I really would like to visit Tahiti but am not sure which islands to visit - I want something different, so not Bora Bora. Which islands do you think are worthy of my time?

Geoff – Connecticut

Dear Geoff,

ALL of French Polynesia is breathtakingly gorgeous, but if I were planning a trip to this exotic destination it would include islands in the Society and Tuamotu groupings. The Society Islands are quite mountainous and filled with waterfalls and many rivers; however, the Tuamotus have gorgeous lagoons with intense watercolors and amazing water clarity. The specific island in these groupings will depend on what you want to do, what type of experience you desire and ultimately your budget. Contact a Tiare (Tahiti) specialist to help orchestrate your dream vacation to French Polynesia. Either Patricia or Joyce at Incredible Journey will be able to guide you.

Best of luck
