Ask Endora

Dear Endora:

My husband and I are excited to be taking our four young grandchildren with us on a cruise to Alaska. Is there anything we should know before we leave on our trip?

Just Wondering

Dear Just Wondering:

Multi generational traveling is the rave, so good for you! Creating these special family memories is something you and your family will cherish forever! To make your trip hassle free remember you might be traveling to Canada and as such there are specific regulations you must adhere to. Follow the rules and you’ll have an incredible family travel journey. I would add that you should get passports as they are the highest level of documentation one can carry while traveling.

Clients traveling with minors must have identification for the children as well as themselves. If only one parent is traveling with the children, he or she must have a letter from the other parent acknowledging the trip. A divorced parent traveling with his or her minor children must have a notarized statement of custody if they are asked for it by immigration officials. Clients traveling with grandchildren must have proper identification and a letter of permission from the children’s parents or guardian.

Happy memories,

Dear Endora,

I have heard there is a helicopter company on Kauai that actually lands at one of the Jurassic Park waterfalls, which company does this?

Sonya

Dear Getting Organized,

Yes there is one company which has exclusive rights to landing at Manawaiopuna Falls which was the waterfall shown in the final and opening scenes of the movie. I have not personally flown with this company but the tour AND company are getting rave reviews! If anything is certain a helicopter ride on Kauai is a must do adventure as 90% of the island is inaccessible by land! Contact info is www.islandhelicopters.com.

Happy flying,

Dear Endora,

I am headed off to Tahiti next year and I wanted to know if buying a black pearl there is something I really should do, or should I just get one back home?

Claire A.

Dear Claire,

Darling, by all means you should get a black pearl in Tahiti, this will be your keepsake of the wonderful time you had in French Polynesia for years to come. Now there are many places to get your black pearl, as getting one is a personal experience. When you see the pearl that is meant for you, you will know! The Tahiti Pearle Market has a fine selection at reasonable prices, and Nycos does a fabulous job of educating their clients, they have a superb assortment of exquisite as well as moderate pearls. Robert Wan has premade jewelry that is trendy and very nice and often times not too expensive. Have a fabulous adventure to one of my favorite spots on earth!

All the best,
   Endora
