LANAI SAILING ADVENTURE

I recently returned from an incredible visit to Maui. My husband and I decided to do something we have never done before – sail to Lanai!

Since we were visiting the islands during whale season we thought this would be a wonderful way to sail, whale watch, snorkel in a pristine bay, and visit the town of Lanai.

I have visited Lanai many times before – I have taken the ferry and rented a Jeep, gone with tour guides etc. but this time I wanted to spend more time on the water sailing than on land – plus I wanted to relax and not have to drive myself or figure out where we wanted to dine!

It was a magical last day in Hawaii for us – the crew was attentive and educated us on marine mammals and the islands. We were fortunate to be able to sail both to and from Lanai, we saw tons of whales, and the snorkeling at Lanai was very good.  After a wonderful tour of the island and dinner at the Pavillion we headed back to Maui. What a treat, we saw even more whales, but the icing on the cake for me was that we were sailing as the sunset!

If you consider that this is an all day adventure and they feed you continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus cocktails for the sunset sail back – it really is a tremendous value.

Included below are the tour details, which are always subject to change, as well as personal and vendor photos.

Tour Details

We depart from Lahaina Harbor at around 10 am (occasionally we offer a sunrise departure at 6:30am) and start your day with an island style breakfast of Mom's homemade cinnamon rolls, coffee, juice and seasonal fruit. Deli snacks are also served on-board during the one and a half hour sail to this very special island (10am departure only). Because we are the only company with permission to bring guests to Hulopo‘e Marine preserve (Voted the #1 beach in America by Dr. Beach), we pay close attention to both your safety and comfort. Our Trilogy crew, as well as our island born Beach Boys, are trained in CPR and First Aid, and are experts at insuring your safety in and out of the water. Besides swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, beach volleyball, and the increasingly popular SNUBA, we also offer a guided tour of Lana‘i's historic plantation town narrated by island born and raised Hawaiian Cultural Guides. Our Kiawe wood BBQ dinner, served at the Hale O Manele over looking Manele Bay, is considered by many to be one of the best in Hawai‘i!
