Discover the World of Central America!

Panama Beach

I am very excited to be sharing the undiscovered jewel called Central America with our clients. There are an untold number of ways to explore nature here. Our more adventurous clients can bungee jump off a bridge, fly over the ocean, hike fiery craters, scuba dive with sharks, kayak through fierce currents and meet wild animals face to face. Culture lovers will find indigenous people living as their ancestors did thousands of years ago and fascinating Mayan ruins to explore. Everyone will enjoy the peace and quiet of walks through rainforests, bird watching tours and miles and miles of sandy, uncrowded beaches. And I haven't even mentioned the tropical retreats and luxurious spas.

Mother Nature has blessed these countries with wildlife and diversity that can't be found anywhere else in the world. The ecological magnificence stretches from the Caribbean to the Pacific and can all be enjoyed in a matter of days as these countries are small and compact, rich and dense. Each of them has its own special gifts to share as well.

Guatemala is the land of eternal spring and the heart of the Maya World. Whether your interests are archaeology, history, bird watching or simply relaxing on a tropical beach, Guatemala has something to offer every visitor. From the graceful colonial architecture of Antiqua and the colorful markets such as Chichicastenango, to the great Classic Maya cities of Tikal, Uaxactun, Ceibal and Yaxha - Guatemala is an intriguing destination.

Belize (formerly known as British Honduras) is located on Central America's Caribbean coast, bordering Mexico and Guatemala. Although it is a small country of only 8,800 square miles (about the size of New Hampshire), the country has many beautiful natural attractions and interesting historical sites. Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world, a number of lush tropical rain forests, picturesque mountains fed by rivers and waterfalls, exotic wildlife, and many fascinating Maya archeological sites.

Known as Central America's jewel, Costa Rica is one of the best places to experience the tropics. It's also mostly coastline, which means great surfing, beaches galore, and a fabulous climate. The lush jungles are home to playful monkeys, languid sloths, crocodiles, countless lizards, poison-dart frogs, a mind-boggling assortment of exotic birds, insects and butterflies. The endangered sea turtles nest on both coasts and cloud forests protect elusive birds and jungle cats. If you want adventure it is here in Costa Rica that you can fly through forests on ziplines (one of the highlights of my last trip), peer into boiling volcanoes, surf oversized waves, and dive with dolphins and whales - all in the course of a normal day. Or, you can just chill out while lounging in a hammock, sunbathe on the beach and enjoy the pure life, or pura vida - a national expression that sums life in Costa Rica, a definite hassle free existence.

Absolutely fascinating and coming into its own as a travel destination, Panama is one of the world's most historical and beautiful countries. It borders both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and boasts over 100 miles of fabulous white sandy beaches, and more than 1500 islands. Cloud forests, tropical rain forests and meandering rivers punctuate the two mountain ranges that form the interior of this small country. Such geographical diversity has created an amazing variety of ecological zones that are home to more than 960 species of birds, 220 of mammals, 240 of reptiles and over 10,000 species of plants making this a real paradise for nature lovers.
