After a leisurely lunch, you will visit the pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, located on the outskirts of Cairo, and considered amongst the seven Wonders of the World. The Great Pyramids are over 4500 years old, and are massive in size, with some of the blocks weighing in excess of two and a half tons each. A short walking distance from the pyramids, you will find the Great Sphinx of Gin, built in 2620 BC in the likeness of then King of Egypt Chephran (Khafre). The ancient monument – 187 feet long and 65 feet high – is a human headed lion wearing a royal headdress, sitting in guard of the Great Pyramids.
