Ask Endora

Dear Endora:

I am trying to plan a family vacation to Hawaii and have a limited budget. We are looking for a place to stay that will cater to kids of various ages, yet be affordable. Any suggestions?

Helene - Idaho

Dear Helene,

Dear it goes without saying that staying in a condo-hotel property is the way to go for many travelers. These properties have the amenities of a resort, but the accommodations are quite comfy and roomy, and the price is considerably less than staying in a traditional resort. Our Hawaii specialists do have their favorites for each island, however, the majority are managed by Outrigger, Castle, and Aston.

All the best,

Dear Endora,

I have seen an overwhelming amount of specials to Tahiti and would like advice as to when is the best time to take advantage of these rates. We would like to stay under $4000 for two people and would like breakfast included and over water bungalow if possible.

Thank you,    Patricia

Ia orana Patricia,

For the last 1½ years there have been tremendous specials to Tahiti, you just need to travel during low season and get the special airline fares in order to save a bundle. I did ask one of our Tiare specialists her opinion on your request and she said over water bungalow will cost closer to high $4000 rate, you can easily stay in a garden bungalow well under your budget. If you can travel from January ‘til the end of March this is where you will save the most as the airlines are offering specials up ‘til the end of March only. Pearl Resorts is offering a stay 3/ pay 2 package and they include daily American breakfast for two.

Key to saving is being able to bundle all three of these specials together...

Hope you get to French Polynesia soon it is absolutely stunning!
