Dear Reader,
I typically am an advocate for creating my own tours on the
islands of Hawaii, but I have found a company that really brings
the islands to life with their stories which focus on the Hawaii
most visitors won’t see.
Ekahi Tours is a small local family owned tour company that
provides wonderful cultural tours to the Kahakuloa Valley as well
as Hana, both of which are on the island of Maui. The experience
you will receive from choosing Ekahi Tours will go well beyond the
sightseeing and the stress free drive to both of these
destinations.
In order to provide a more intimate experience both full day
excursions are limited to only about half a dozen or so clients.
The guides are all locals who know their Hawaiian heritage and are
eager to share their culture with visitors. The guides will “talk
story” about how the Hawaiians of old used the natural elements on
the island for medicinal purposes, and about how long ago the
fauna that you see on the islands such as the boar, deer, elk,
pheasant and quail were introduced to the island and how ranching
became popular on the island. They will take you to beaches and
sight seeing spots that only the locals know about.
The tour guides know the locals that live in the areas visited
and have access to private roads that only a local would have
nerve enough to explore. When you get to learn from locals you
will begin to understand the rich culture and heritage of the
Hawaiian people. You will understand how the Hawaiians have worked
together for 1000’s of years, and luckily still do to this day.
The way of the Hawaiians has always been a simple, self
sufficient life style. I highly recommend that next time you visit
the Magic Island of Maui to call Ekahi Tours for an enlightening
tour to either of these destinations.
The tours are offered daily, prices range from $80 p/adult, $75
for seniors ages 60+, $60 for children up to age 11.

Riviera
Maya |
|
The Riviera Maya is teeming with water activities that
will thrill anyone who is a water aficionado. The
intoxicating beauty of the turquoise blue and green
Caribbean Sea set against the pristine powder white sand
beaches and lush jungle is enough to make you hop in a car
and drive to a myriad of unspoiled beaches. When you add the
natural attributes of this area to the amazing man made
temples by the clever Mayan civilization you will understand
why this region is the most visited destination in the
Caribbean. The increase in visitor’s each year surpasses any
other tropical destination in the world.

Premium
Cruise Ship Dining |
|
One of the best things about cruising is the many dining
opportunities available in a 24-hour period. In recent
years, cruise lines have implemented premium dining and
education opportunities as a means of offering passengers
new and expanding culinary adventures. Below are some
options available on a few of the existing cruise lines.

Endora |

Dear
Endora:
I have never cruised before but am interested in doing
so. I live in a city with a cruise port and see many cruise
special prices advertised in the Sunday paper. When I call
about these advertised cruise deals I find that actual
pricing is always higher than what has been advertised. Is
this a bait and switch tactic?

segment of the wedding market is “Destination Weddings.”
Typically reserved for the rich and famous, this trend has
changed and now is affordable for most everyone. Most
couples can save upwards of $20,000 on a destination
